Best Eye Twitch Remedies And Treatment Options

There are several available options for getting help for eye twitches. Options for severe cases include surgery, but there are non surgical and natural health options available that are proven to be effective eye twitch remedies.

Surgical Options

Myectomy
a surgical procedure in which some or all of the muscles and nerves of the eyelids are removed. These muscles are carefully removed through a brow incision and an eyelid crease incision. This is only done for severe or chronic cases of Blepharospasm or in cases where other options have been ineffective. It is necessary to consult a physician in order to find out if you are an ideal candidate for this type of procedure.

Preventative Measures for Eye Twitch
Because stress and/or anxiety often causes eye twitch, one of the best preventative measures is to keep stress levels down. Another tip is to make sure you get plenty of rest and minimize your caffeine consumption. It is also a good idea to have annual eye examinations to protect your visual acuity and maintain good overall eye health. Eye twitches can be bothersome, and even a little frightening when first encountered, but generally they are harmless and will resolve without treatment. The causes of eye twitch are readily known and if you experiencing severe symptoms or eye twitches last longer than a week, consult a physician or optometrist/ophthalmologist immediately.
