Eyelid Surgery Increasing A telling sign of a person's age is often the eyelids. The eyelids droop and become puffy as an individual ages. These changes typically start in a person's thirties and forties and continues as an individual ages. This is because the eyelids becomes more susceptible to gravity as the skin loosens and loses tone over time. The bags on the upper and lower eyelid is caused when fat makes the pockets herniated forward. People in their thirties and forties are starting to visit cosmetic surgeons for minor procedures to help ease the aging process. As a result eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is becoming popular. Eyelid surgery can improve the aging appearance around the eyes by making individuals look rested, alert and youthful. Eyelid surgery works be getting rid of the excess fat and skin on the area around the eye. Extra skin is removed with a little bit of fat from the center of the eye during upper lid surgery. Fat is removed by excising small sections of skin for lower lid surgery. Eyelid surgery typically takes between one and a half to two hours. Three to seven days after surgery the stitches are removed. On the seventh day after surgery people can go for brisk walks and begin applying makeup again on the eighth day. Soon thereafter people can increase their activity depending on how they feel. Most can indulge in all pre-surgery activity within one month. Full results from the surgery will be noticed within six months and for a year afterwards the condition will continue to be improved. |
