Contact Glasses Contact lenses are lenses that are placed on the cornea of the eye. They are used for health and as well as cosmetic purposes. Many people now use them for cosmetic purposes nowadays. Contact lenses typically provide the same counteractive rationale as conventional glasses, but are lightweight and practically unseen - many commercial lenses are painted with light blue to make them more observable when wrapped up in cleaning and storage solutions. Decorative lenses are purposely painted for changing the look of the eye. It has been anticipated that about 125 million public make use of contact lenses internationally, including 29 to 39 million in the United States 13 million in Japan. The types of lenses used and given vary clearly between countries, with stiff lenses accounting for over 20% of currently-prescribed lenses in Japan, Netherlands and Germany but less than 5% in Scandinavia. People decide to wear contact lenses for various reasons. Many believe their look to be more attractive with contact lenses than with glasses. Contact lenses are less infected or damaged by external conditions like weather and they do not steam up. They provide a wider field of vision. They are more suitable for a number of sporting activities. Ophthalmologic conditions such as keratoconus and aniseikonia may not be precisely corrected with glasses.
